Week 1

Currently the boy in striped pyjamas is not interesting me as much as I would like. It is not exactly drawing the reader int the book. The first chapter is pointless dialogue between the unreliable narrator and his sister and mother. At chapter 5, the plot starts to form with the narrator Bruno spotting aushwitz for the first time. With the unreliable narrating you can only assume it is auschwitz, it never actually uses the exact word. Another example of the unreliable narration is that Bruno refers to Adolf Hitler as the Fury, as he has obviously heard him referred to as Mein Fuhrer, My leader. All in all the boy in striped pyjamas is a not very enticing first few chapters.
